There's two. The 140HP engines get 4.

Can you tap a manometer into the intake manifold? The difference in pressure drop may be insignificant unless you're doing a whole lot of other shit to the engine.

...and it probably cause almost no gains with out a significant amount of other mods to the motor.... or if it does it will be at the sacrifice of low end (cruising) throttle precision.

Fun fact: The automatic version of my car had a slightly larger bore to make up for the reduced responsiveness from the transmission. It's one of the cheapest mods you can do on a Neon, you just need to find an automatic one in the junkyard. The wider throttle body will bolt right onto an MTX car and give you an extra 5 or so horsepower.

Nope, you have to buy that separately. So add another 6 to 800 on top of that.

No kidding, the only thing I can recommend is that Cusco does make some good parts. Hopefully other things should be around in the future. Plus I like the shinyness of your supercharger/TB. It looks awesome.

Plus you need to retune it to actually take advantage of the mod, otherwise it won't do much.

I think Toyota kind of screwed over the auto version of this car. The gearing makes it slower, it is heavier, and everything is virtually

TB's on a N/A car are virtually pointless, most times they are not a bottleneck. You'll get snappier throttle response but thats about it. Since you have drive by wire, I'm not sure if that would even happen. I guess if the ratio inside the TB is a quicker ratio over stock, the electric motor would turn it faster, so it would give the same effect, but I've never owned a drive by wire car let alone swapped a TB on one.

10/28/2013 at 00:07

Kinja'd!!!0

This is pretty much true. Any intake mod will do very little. All I am going to do is get a 50 dollar drop in filter, and maybe add a bigger snorkle. . . because why not(can't do harm can it)? Both are still cheaper than buying a full intake. I honestly don't know how throttle by wire would work other than what you said in your post.

it was for a terminator, now its on my marauder

the blower only had 1000 miles on it, and the SBTB/plenum 6000. I got both of them for really good deals.

eh I'm sure there's plenty of people out there with boosted BRZ/86's who'd think this is reasonable. especially in the Drifting scene.

10/28/2013 at 00:36

Kinja'd!!!0

When you throw boost at it, its a little different, but I know the OP's car is stock or close to stock. On a N/A car its totally pointless.

Even still, I'm sure on a low boost kit that TB isn't a major restriction. 1500 for a throttle body is a LOT. My supercharger didn't even cost me that much!

Kinja'd!!! Blaquer > offroadkarter
10/28/2013 at 00:39

Kinja'd!!!0

Nice. now that the coyote motor is out, the top ends of terminators are a lot more affordable. And that makes it a Mauler, now, right?

Marquis - 4.6 2V
Marauder - 4.6 4V
Mauler - S/C 4.6 4V

Kinja'd!!! offroadkarter > Blaquer
10/28/2013 at 00:41

Kinja'd!!!0

I have never heard anyone call it a Mauler lol

Prices on terminator eaton stuff has actually gone up a lot. They only made those cars for 2 years, and now that eaton swaps are popular with marauders, mach 1's, and N/A cobras, let alone 4v GT swap cars, and even people using the M112's on tork tech 2v cars, its getting harder to find parts and the prices on whats left keeps going up. I got my blower for 440 shipped, and now 400 on average will get you a blower with 30-50k miles on it. Ported blowers are like 800 bucks usually.

We can only hope for OP's sake that the newest WRX also uses the FA20, at the moment it's just the Toyobaru twins, Forester and JDM only Legacy GT that use them. Cheapest I've seen a S/C kit for the BRZ/86 is $3300 including brackets and gaskets etc.

Kinja'd!!! offroadkarter > beardsbynelly - Rikerbeard
10/28/2013 at 01:04

thats not a bad price, although I was never big on S/C 4 bangers, seems like it doesn't do to much.

Kinja'd!!! beardsbynelly - Rikerbeard > offroadkarter
10/28/2013 at 01:22

Kinja'd!!!0

they don't need a whole lot extra power, I think their sweet spot would be about 50% extra, any more than that and you wouldn't be able to use any of the extra power on the street. Most S/C kits seem capable of that on stock internals.

The Camaro was cheaper to make, had a V8, and the UAW was happy because it required more people to make.

Oh I am sure. Just a what if moment.

Like if Ford didn't kill the SVO program and built a turbo focus a few(30) years earlier(in the US). They would own the hot hatch department. And they could use the DOHC n/a tech to build a miata fighter before miatas even took over.

Which makes me want to drop a duratec 2.3 in a foxbody. Same philosophy as the guy who dropped the ford indy motor in the martini fastback mustang. Except less everything haha.
